Dock Diving!

Wrangler has always loved the water! The first time I saw him get excited about water was when we went to the beach near our home, he saw the waves and he was pulling and barking to get to the water! Once he made it to the waters edge he didn’t want to leave he was frolicking, playing, and running with the waves. He was having the time of his life!

Wranglers first beach day!

His ears were bigger then his whole head at this age lol!

The first time I ever saw him swim it was last year; we went camping for the fourth of July, and there’s a creek that runs along the campground. We wanted to take a dip in the water it was a hot day. As soon as we walked up Wrangler began to pull and bark like he’s done at the beach many times before, I brought him to the water and he jumped right in! He was swimming! Doggy paddle and all lolll! I was honestly shocked because I never saw him swim before!

Now whenever he sees a body of water he’s swimming like its what he was born to do.

Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

I knew I needed to harness this drive he has! So I did some research to find a dock diving place, the closest place is about 2 hours away. Is it worth the travel? Hell yes!

We signed up for one session just to see how it would go. He loved it! We used the ramp and by the time the session was over he was pushing and jumping off the ramp! I couldn’t let it stop there, so I had to sign him up for a package of classes!

Class 1 Junior Dock

Class 1 Junior Dock

We are currently in week 2 and he’s graduated to jumping off the advanced dock!

It’s safe to say its one of his favorite things to do, he pulls me to the dock, runs up the steps and waits on the platform for me to throw his Amphibious Bumper by Chuckit! We’re starting to work on more structure on the dock to help him start projecting more distance into his jumps. We hope to start competing in dock diving competitions but we have a lot more work to do!

If your dog loves the water or needs to work on their confidence look into dog sports! Dock diving is a great confidence builder and a great bonding sport for you and your dog. Your dog doesn’t need to be comfortable with the water like Wrangler is to dock dive. Start off slow, they will get there.

Before you know it your dogs feet will be in the water, you’ll blink your eyes and they’ll be jumping off the advanced dock like Wrangler does!

Don’t be afraid you’ve got this!
